How to Install Lightroom & Photoshop Presets

So you've signed up for our email list, received the free presets we promised.. now what? Here's a step by step guide on how to install our Lightroom presets & Photoshop actions.

 

 

Installing the Lightroom & Photoshop Presets

Lightroom

 

  1. Launch Lightroom

  2. Select the "Develop" module in the top right hand corner

  3. Once the Develop module is open, navigate to the "Presets" panel on the Left hand side of the screen. ( If you don't see the "Presets" panel you can access them buy by navigating to the "Window" drop down tab located at the top of the screen then click on "Presets" - the panel will then become visible in the side tray in Lightroom ).

  4. Click on the Triangle icon Directly next to the word "Presets" opening the panel showing a drop down of different Lightroom Presets.

  5. Right click anywhere on the light grey drop down directly under the word "Presets" - Select "New Folder" name it accordingly (this step is optional but I recommend it to stay organized).

  6. Now you have a new preset folder made, right click over it and select "Import" when the import box appears navigate to where you saved the Lightroom Presets.

  7. Select all the Preset files (.lrtemplate files) click on "Import" and you should see the new presets appear in your presets panel!

 

 

Photoshop Actions

 

  1. Launch Photoshop

  2. At the top of the screen, scroll over the "Window" drop down & make sure "Actions" is selected.

  3. You can find the "Actions" panel on the right side of the screen, the icon looks like a sideways triangle - resembling a play button.

  4. With the actions panel open, click on the the "tab menu" icon in the top right hand corner of the tab. (The icon that has 4 horizontal lines stacked on top of each other).

  5. Scroll down to "Load Actions" click on it.

  6. when the import box pops up, navigate to where you saved the Photoshop Actions (Presets) select the Action file (.atn file) and import.

  7. Once the Actions are loaded be sure to ALWAYS click on the *Step 1* action and press the Play button at the bottom of the tab. This will analyze your entire image & separate it by color & exposure ranges for ultimate control over the entire image. after step one you can run any other actions.
